4 Months!

Kylee had her 4 month check up today. She is 16 lbs and 26 inches! She does have some adorable rolls, but the average length for her age is 24 inches and the ideal weight for her length is 16 pounds so she's perfect!! I didn't need a doctor to tell me that though! Ben keeps commenting on how she looks so big, not just her length but she's acting so much more alert and full of energy. Of course she had to get 3 shots which she just hated. I breaks my heart to see her cry like that, but I know she needs them. Ben was on a Lake Powell fishing trip with his dad and brother and missed out on all the fun, AGAIN! Last month I went solo too. Oh well, he probably wouldn't do so good with seeing her cry anyway. Her doctor said she'd be pretty sore for a couple days and to give her Tylenol. Apparently she decided she doesn't like taking it now because as soon as I put it in her mouth she spits it all out and refuses to swallow! Little stinker! Eventually we got it down and she kept in the majority of it. We go again in 2 months for her 6 month appointment and more shots. YAHOO!!

My AMAZING Mother's Day Weekend

I'm just going to start out by telling you this is going to be a long post, so don't say I didn't warn you.

I had the best Mother's Day weekend ever and couldn't think of a better way to spend my first one! This little princess is the reason I get to celebrate being a mother.

We headed out Friday morning for our first family road trip/vacation with Kylee (well, my not being pregnant at least) on our way to Las Vegas. She was riding pretty comfortable the whole way and did awesome in the car.
Ben needed a break from driving so Kylee happily volunteered to take over!

We arrived at the Lowe's Lake Las Vegas resort around 4:00. It was AMAZING! We should have taken more pictures of the resort because it was incredible. Hands down the nicest place I have ever stayed. Kylee was so good and slept the whole night in the crib we had in the room.

That night we went for a swim in one of the pools. It was Kylee's first time swimming and she loved it!

5:30 the next morning we woke up to get ready for the big race!!! I had to feed Kylee, get her ready, get myself ready, make sure Ben had a couple bottles for later, and have all my stuff at the transition area before 6:15. I barely made it right as they said there was one minute until everyone needed to clear the area.

After leaving the transition area I made my way to the beach where the race started with the 1/2 mile swim. The weather couldn't have been better and the water was the perfect temperature. Ben met me there with Kylee in a carrier and the camera and video camera in hand and wished me luck.

Once I finished the swim, I got on my biking gear and took off for the 10 mile ride. I have to say the biking part was my favorite. The bike course we rode on was beautiful.

Last but not least was the 5k run at the end. Only the first 1/4 mile or so was paved, after that it was rolling hills of desert gravel. I'm glad I wasn't running it later in the day or it would have been so hot!! It was so neat rounding that last corner onto the paved street and hearing the people and music at the end. A new wave of energy hit and I sprinted to the finish line to see Ben and Kylee there cheering me on.

Ta Da!!! I finished my first triathlon! (No, I didn't need the ambulance, it was just a funny coincidence that I was infront of it in this picture) I can honestly say not once did I feel like giving up or that I regreted doing it. It was an awesome experience and I'm so glad I had Ben and Kylee there keeping me going. I ended up finishing in 2 hrs 31 min and change. Not first place, but definately not last! Next year I'm going to kick my this year's time in the butt!!!
Kylee slept most of the way home. Needless to say we were all ready to be out of car at that point.

Tummy Time!

Kylee tried out her tummy time mat for the first time the other day and loved it! Before when she'd lay on her stomach she would only do it for a minute or two before getting really mad and letting us know she was done. Now she does it for a lot longer. Maybe soon she'll start rolling over. We'll see!

Ooh La La!

Here are Kylee's 4 month pictures. Well, she doesn't turn 4 months until this Friday and we took these last week, but that's okay. The lighting and effects are different on all of them because I was playing around. Some will stay the same and some will change. Some are also similar shots, but I can't decide what ones I like better. There are a lot of pictures so get ready! I just wanted to share what we got. Happy (almost) Birthday Little Bug!!
