I Think I'm Developing A Hobby!

I've been playing around with "Ben's" camera more and more lately. I've actually taken quite a few good pictures, but totally by chance. I'm going to have to start learning how to take them manually so I can say I do it on purpose! Here's a few of the ones I took yesterday.

Ben took this last one and I think it is so dang cute! She's so funny, she's just sitting there watching the Jazz game. Apparently she's become quite the fan.

Quiet Nights

It's now been 2 1/2 weeks since Kylee started sleeping through the night and I still haven't learned to go to bed earlier to take advantage of it and get some good quality sleep! She's asleep between 8:30pm and 9:00pm and wakes up around 6:30am. After being awake for an hour and a half or so she's ready for her first nap of the day which usually lasts between 2 and 4 hours. This is when I've decided it's best to get in my workout for the day. Her naps are getting much more regular and I think I've just about figured out her natural sleep schedule. It's so funny because at night when she's asleep and it's just me and Ben, I find myself totally missing her and wanting to go check on her multiple times. I'm sure she needs a break from me just as much as I hate to admit it's nice to have some alone time with Ben. I just can't get enough of either of them!

Gettin' Better!

Well, Kylee is almost totally over her first cold. I noticed she was starting to feel icky last Wednesday and we didn't have a very fun weekend. What's even worse is that I got the stomach flu Thursday night. My amazing husband took the day off work on Friday to stay home and help out. That man of mine, what would I do without him?! Poor little Kylee was so stuffy and had a bad cough and was sneezing way more than normal. She got a lot of sleep and a lot of cuddles from her mom and dad and it looks like she's on the upswing. Even when she was feeling her worst we'd get some snot nosed little smiles every now and then and that made me feel better. I'm so glad she's getting back to her smiley, silly little self. Maybe now she'll start to giggle!

Fast Asleep!

Ben and I were maling dinner the other night while Kylee was sitting in her Boppy chair. I turned around to see she had fallen asleep sucking her thumb. Sweet baby!

Peek-A-Boo!

Ben and I took Kylee outside with us to feed the dogs. I made sure she was nice and warm with her cute hat and blankie. So cute! She loved being outside and getting some fresh air.

Kylee's Newest Friend

Thursday evening Kylee was home with Ben and he caught her doing this and recorded it with our video camera. The next day I put her in her seat to do some laundry and heard her giggling. I came to see what she was doing and she was at it again! I thought I'd get it on my camera since I haven't learned to download videos off our video camera yet. Silly girl!

If she catches you looking at her she'll stop. The best part is that the light isn't even on!

Iron Girl!

Yep, I just signed up for my first triathlon! It's May 9th in Las Vegas and Ben and Kylee will be there to cheer me on. I can't think of a better way to celebrate my first Mother's Day weekend! I've got exactly 7 weeks to train hard and get my butt in shape!

This one is from the morning Kylee got her 2 month shots 2 weeks ago. She hadn't started to feel icky yet. My little Bug is so dang cute!

Here she is sucking her thumb falling asleep for her nap. She'll suck it for so long it'll be bright red when she's done. I love that she plays with her hair with her other hand!

Sunday Walk

The weather was so nice yesterday that we went on a walk around the neighborhood. It was nice for Kylee and I to get some fresh air and Ben now has the job as designated stroller pusher.

Thumb Sucker

I guess if anyone was going to have a thumb sucking baby it would be me. I sucked my thumb until I went to Kindergarden and it looks like Kylee is taking after her mom. For the past couple days she's sucked her thumb until she falls asleep. As adorable as it is, I have my fingers crossed it won't last too long. Unlike a binki, I can't exactly take away her thumb when she's too old. Sometimes it sounds like she's going to suck her thumb clean off! She's so dang cute, she'll suck her thumb with one hand (usually her left, which her dad is thrilled about) and play with her hair with the other. I'm pretty sure sucking her thumb is a huge reason why she's sleeping so much better, especially at night. The past few nights she has slept for 6-8 hours at a time! Nap times are great too, I put her in her crib and she'll just suck her thumb to sleep, NO CRYING! I think I am going to keep working on the binki even though I love how cute this is.

Poor Baby

So we went to the doctor today for Kylee's 2 month checkup. I knew it wouldn't be a lot of fun since she would have to get 3 shots. Ben couldn't get out of work to go with me so I was on my own. We got there and the nurse told me to get Kylee down to a dry diaper so she could weigh her. Of course right as she said that Kylee started pooping and ended up blowing out her diaper and needed a new outfit. Oh well, I had to get her undressed anyway so what better time for a wipe bath than right then. She put her on the scale and my little chubby girl weighs 12 lbs 3 oz. We put her on the table to measure her, and after a struggle between the nurse and Ky to get her legs straight, the nurse determined she is 23 inches long. Then came the icky part, the shots. I'm so lucky, I got to hold down her arms and watch her face as she got each one! Yeah, I know. No fun at all! I can honestly say I don't want that nurse's job. As soon as they were done I picked up my princess and she stopped crying. She held on so tight and didn't want anything to do with the nurse after that. Needless to say I am not so excited to go back in two months but glad my little sweetheart is good and healthy.

Happy Anniversary!

Ben and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary today. We had so much fun out and about and brought Kylee along. We had breakfast at Marketstreet Grill where got the best hot chocolate in the world! Then we went to the movies and saw Taken. So good!! Kylee slept the whole time even through the loud parts where I plugged her ears. Last but not least we had lunch at good old Cafe Rio. Of course I forgot my camera and didn't take any pictures!

I love my husband so much. It is so amazing to get to spend every day with my best friend. I know I can do anything with him by my side. He is the best dad in the world and I love seeing him with his baby girl. I am so blessed to have him in my life!

2 Months Old

Little Kylee Bug is 2 months old! Wow, time flies! She is starting to smile and talk her sweet baby talk more and more, especially in the morning right after she wakes up. Here are some of her 2 month pictures I took today. Her dad HATES the hat and yes, she's only wearing it because it came with the pants.

Kylee's Blessing

We had Kylee blessed last Sunday the 1st. It was such a special day and couldn't have been more perfect. I love knowing that my family will be together forever. Ben did an amazing job with the blessing. I am so grateful and blessed to have an amazing husband who holds the priesthood. He is such a strength to our family. After church we got together with family and friends and had a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone for coming and sharing Kylee's special day with us.

At lunch time today it was 64° outside, so I decided it was time for our first walk around the neighborhood. Kylee got in her carseat with only minor protest and we were off.

Of course any ride is more fun when you have your arms up! WWEEEEE!!
