Could She Be Any Cuter?!

Ducky!

I got Ky a new Duck towel since she's getting so big so fast and the baby ones were REALLY small. I know, I probably should have bought a new one sooner. She LOVED it as soon as I showed it to her and started squealing "Ducky!!" (The pictures aren't the best quality since they're from a cell phone)

She looks darling with it on!

Playing peek-a-boo. This is one of her favorite games, but usually it's with her blanket.

I'm pretty sure this smile is a little forced because she was wanting to take a bath and play with her toys already!

Olay! Olay Olay Olay!

I just had to make a fun soccer cake when Real Salt Lake made it into the MLS cup!! I'm pretty sure it helped them win too! Ü

The ball was a chocolate cake with buttercream icing all covered in fondant.

And the grass was just piped buttercream.

Princess Sophia

Ky is obsessed with cats. We were at the fabric store and she started freaking out when she saw fabric with cats on it. She kept yelling "Kitty!" and kicking her feet. It's a good thing Sophie doesn't run and hide from her like all other cats do. She actually really likes Ky and will sit and watch her play with toys.

Sometimes she gets in and plays with Ky and her toys. Eventually Ky squeals and scares her away, but it's fun while it lasts.

New Sippy

Ky's top teeth are almost done breaking through! One has pretty well cut and the other is so close. She loved drinking from a straw so much because of it I decided to find her a sippy cup that has a straw built in.

Thank goodness for Walmart! I swear they have everything! She loves this cup and it's perfect for her to hold all by herself.

She wasn't so happy after she banged it on the counter and it splashed her in the face. This girl makes me laugh so hard!

Curly Sue

I love the little curls Ky is getting! They are so dang cute!!!

Not Now Mom, We're Playing!

Ben rarely plays video games, but they just came out with 2 new games he wanted to try so we headed over to blockbuster to get them for the weekend. Of course Ky had to join in the fun.

I love this picture! They both look so into it!

Ky was pretty excited she got to play with her own controller the whole time.

'Tis the Season!

I'm so proud of myself!! I made this awesome little wreath last night and I am really happy with how it turned out. I still need to get a satin bow to hide the hook at the top, but it sure is pretty!

Busy Days

I get to have so much fun with Kylee every day and am so grateful to be able to be home with her. We have so much fun and go pretty much non-stop all day long.

Unless we're cuddling reading a book or watching her favorite show Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
This is her favorite toy of the moment. It's a little duck that has a rattle inside of it. We were in the car today and I asked her "Ky where's your ducky?". She looked at it and clear as day said "Ducky". Of course we got her to keep saying it over and over again because it was so cute and we were amazed that she said it.
There is noting out of reach for her. No matter what, she finds a way to get to it. She is constantly exploring and learning about everything around her.
My pretty girl!! I just love her smile!
Oh yeah, did I mention she pulls herself up to EVERYTHING?
She could play with her toys for HOURS. Just sitting there pulling them out and playing with whatever catches her eye is enough to entertain her for as long as I let her play. The look on her face is so funny, "Um mom, I'm playing here!!"
Another new favorite thing to do, pull all of the magazines out of the basket one by one and throw them on the floor. She especially loves with the newspaper is in there because it tears really easily and there are lots of pages to cover the floor with.
And then there are cats. Both of her Grandmas have cats and she gets so excited when she sees them, or should I say when they don't run away from her. Sophie has let Ky play with her lately and Ky thinks it is the best thing ever. This morning she and Ben came in the room and Ben asked her "Ky, where's the kitty?". She turned to a picture in the room and waving said "Hi Kitty". Now everytime she sees a cat in the house or even in one of her books she points and says "Kitty".
There ya have it, bits and pieces of what we do each day!

Come On Teeth!!

For just over a week now Ky has been working on getting her two front teeth up top. Man, it's a lot of work for my poor little Bug!! When her first two teeth came in, she was grumpy for maybe two days and that was it. This time is another story. She had a low fever, has been moody off and on, went through at least 3 outfits a few days in a row because of diarrhea, didn't want to eat anything especially nurse for the first couple days, and her night time sleeping is WAY OUT OF WACK! She has been waking up 3 or 4 times a night! Thank goodness for orajel!

Anytime I try to get a peek at her teeth she shuts her mouth so tight there's no way of seeing a thing. This morning I turned on Backyardigans because the loves the beginning and smiles so big when she sees it. I was able to get this picture of her teeth. You can see them just under her poor swollen gums and the tips are not quite breaking through, but are close.

I bought her some pedialite to keep her hydrated since she was going through so many diapers, but she wouldn't drink it because sucking on her sippy cup hurt her gums. My genius husband thought we should see if she'd drink it from a straw. She had never drank from one before but caught on so fast and doesn't spill a drop.
I have my fingers crossed these teeth will show themselves in the next couple days so my little Bug will be back to her cute little self again (and our sleepless nights will disapear!). Then again, these aren't the last teeth she'll get so I had better get used to it :)

10 Months!

I honestly can't believe another month has come and gone and man did Ky learn A LOT!! She...
  • Gives High 5's. Well, they're more like low fives, but she loves doing it!
  • Can click her tongue and has gotten the noise really loud.
  • Pulls herself up to anything and everything, even in the slippery bath tub. She's learned how to get down on her own so I don't have to save her when she gets stuck in her crib anymore.
  • Says "Mama", "Dada", "Oughto", "Yay", and "Hi". When she drops something she says "oughto", whenever someone says "yay" she says it too and claps, and when she's playing with the phone or waving she says "hi". She even said "bye" for the first time today waving so there's another one!
  • Loves cats, especially Sophie. Ky will chase her all around and play with her tail. Sophie is really good and just lets her do it.
  • Sucks her thumb and plays with Mommy's hair all the time now. I'm pretty sure it's her comfort thing. I absolutely love it, it is so sweet!
  • Loves to bite Daddy's nose when they play. I'm sure those little teeth are pretty sharp, but he's a tough guy and just keeps letting her do it.
  • Has 2 teeth, but is going to add the top two middle to her collection any day. Poor Bug, these two are no fun and she's not feeling too good, but she's a trooper!
  • Gives big kisses when Ben or I give her cheek butterfly kisses. Another incredibly sweet thing I just can't get enough of!
  • Loves eating finger foods. She says "MMMMMmmmmm" the WHOLE time she's eating too. Must be pretty good!
  • Loves to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and dances when they do the Hot Dog Dance at the end.
  • says "aaawwwww" (like an Indian) whenever someone taps their hand over her mouth and then laughs at how silly she is.

Ben and I were watching some of the videos we have on our video camera tonight and couldn't believe how much she has changed and grown in the past 10 months. I found myself getting sad when I saw her so little and brand new. I'm not sure why, maybe because my little girl is growing so fast and needs me less and less each day. It's hard to see her doing more and more things on her own, but then I realized that she is growing and learning exactly how she is supposed to and I get to show her how to keep learning everyday. I love getting to play with her and show her new things. I love how her face lights up when she sees something new and exciting. I love when she reaches for me and I get to just hold her while she lays her head on my shoulder sucking her thumb and plays with my hair. She makes me so happy and I am so excited to get to continue watching her, helping her along the way, and being her Mommy.

It's A Bird, It's A Plane, It's.....

SUPER KYLEE! She LOVES when Ben throws her in the air really high. She squeals and giggles the whole time. Man, Daddy is lots of fun!

She had to take time when they were done to talk to the pretty baby in the mirror though. Wouldn't you?

The Difference A Couple Weeks Makes!

HOLY COW! It's amazing how much Ky's mobility has changed in the last week or two! This girl LOVES to play and moves non-stop all day long! She is so full of energy and it's a good thing I can keep up!

She loves to pull herself up next to anything and is getting really good at it. You should see her killer calf muscles! She's especially good at pulling up to the couch and walking along it while holding on. She can move pretty fast when she wants to too.

But sometimes getting down is a little tricky.
She gives me the "Mom, Help!" look and I show her how to get back down to her bum.
"OOHHH! The camera!" (Notice the string of drool. She must really want it!)

She started this new game where I go across the room on the floor with the camera and she comes at me as fast as she can to get it.
She thinks it's pretty funny!

She's also mastered crawling on her hands and knees. No more army crawl! She can even crawl with something in her hand. Pretty tricky!

I'm so proud of my little Bug and how smart she is. She sure is getting big fast and I love being her Mommy!

The BIG Tub

The other day Ky got to take a bath in the BIG tub. She had su much fun!! My camera on my phone had to do because I didn't want the big one getting splashed!

Showing Mommy her turtles.

Giving the turtle a little swim.

Playing up on the ledge.

Givin' them a good shake!
She'll definately have to do this more often. She loved all the room to play and got really tired so her afternoon nap was good and long!

Random Pictures

Me and my Kylee Bug!

She just kills me! Look how stinkin' cute she is!!!

Sucking away at her little thumb. AAWWW!!!
