One Year Old!

Ky had her first birthday a week ago and I would have posted all this stuff then, but we had quite the week. She got ANOTHER cold and when we took her in for her 12 month checkup her Dr. told us she also had an ear infection. She had 3 shots on top of it and since they were out of flu shots we get to do that next week. No Bueno! After a few sleepless nights and lots of medicine she's back to her normal darling self.

Here are her numbers from the doctor. She weighs 19.88 lbs (29%), she's 30.5 in. long (89%), and her head is 76%. So basically she's tall and skinny, which I believe since of her 18 month jeans are too loose around the waist but the perfect length.

Some of the things she's doing right now are:
  • She loves to read. She'll pick up a book, put it in her lap, turn each page and read it to herself.
  • She has to be the one to turn the pages of her books when Ben or I read to her.
  • If you ask her where the kitty or puppy is in her book she'll find it and point to it with a big smile on her face.
  • She's really good at making animal sounds. She does a dog, cow, owl, and elephant.
  • If you ask her where her ducky is when she's in the bathtub she'll look around until she finds it and then show it to you.
  • She blows you kisses when she feels like it.
  • She's pretty content crawling and will use her walker every once in a while, but hasn't taken any steps on her own yet.
  • She pulls the funniest little faces and is getting quite the personality with occasional temper tantrums.
  • Goes to bed mostly awake now and knows what Ni-Night means.
  • She loves to get ahold of our cell phones and put them up to her head and talk on them. Usually she throws in a "Hi" somewhere in the conversation.
  • She waves and says "Hi" to everyone, even people in the grocery store. If you say Bye to her she'll wave at you until you leave.
  • If you point to her food when she's eating and say "AH" she'll put it up to your mouth, but quickly take it away and eat it with a big smile.
  • She's mastered going up the stairs, it's just coming back down that's the hard part.

Here are a few darling pictures I took the other day.

Ky and her Daddy reading. I LOVE this picture!

She can't help but stick out her tongue when she's really concentrating. She gets that from her Daddy Ü.

I got a new quilting frame the other day and Kylee couldn't resist it.
She even balanced on top of it all by herself.

Yep, she's pretty cool!

She was even daring enough to attempt an army crawl across it.

Good thing Dad was there Ü.
