Potty Training

Towards the end of July we decided to give potty training a go. I went and bought Ky some darling little panties (which are the cutest thing ever on her little bum!), made a sticker chart, and got some prizes (candy, stickers, jewelry, etc.) in a little container. The first day we got out some movies and hunkered down upstairs in the family room right by the bathroom so we were close to her little potty. She went in her potty 3 times, but had 9 accidents. She was so excited the times she went in her potty because she got to put a sticker on her chart and pick 2 prizes each time. She would go potty and get really excited saying "I did it all by myself!!" each time with her face all lit up. We ended the first day with my feeling helpless that I didn't know how to help her know what to do when she had to go. I'm sure after 2 1/2 years of just going when she needed to, it was new to have to hold it. The next day she went in her potty 5 times and only had 3 accidents and the day after that only 1 accident all day. She would even say "I have to go potty!" and run down the hall saying "Hold it, hold it!" We also took some books in the bathroom so we could read until she went potty if she had "stage fright".
After a week or so of doing really good, she stopped telling us when she had to do and would have multiple accidents each day. She also started getting really mad and didn't want to go when we would put her on the potty. After two poopy accidents in one day we decided we wouldn't make her upset by not wanting to go anymore and went back to diapers not long after Colton was born. I figure we'll just give it a few more months and give it another shot. Better to wait until they're totally ready.
