December 4th: Popcorn Balls

I love doing this every year with my mom and sisters. My mom makes the best homemade caramel that coats these delicious treats. But how do they come to be? Ah, I'll show you.

First you make the caramel. Here's Nat working hard at the stove.

Next, you have one of the little munchkins get the cookie sheets ready for the rolled popcorn balls. Gabi did a great job!

Once the caramel is done, you pour it over the popcorn and mix it together really well so everything is coated nice and thick.

All the kids were pretty excited and had a hard time waiting to make the popcorn balls.

Once everything is coated, you rip open the bag and spread out the popcorn so it can cool a little before you handle it.

The best part is rolling the popcorn into balls. Diane even got to join in the fun.

After the balls were rolled, Melinda and Gabi put them in bags and tied them with ribbon (red and green of course).
Ta da!! We made 5 batches and they all turned out so good!!

Kylee loved her first taste of caramel popcorn!
